Master Sergeant Hubert L. West, USMC (Ret.) joined the Marine Corps in 1965 and retired in 1988. He served as a Military Police for the majority of his career and was stationed mostly on the east cost and Dallas. Highlights of Hubert's career include: A tour in Vietnam A tour at Marine Barracks, Yokosuka, Japan Two tours in Okinawa An assignment in Dallas, TX as a Recruiter An assignment in Dallas, TX with an Absentee Collection Unit Following retirement, Hubert became a Navy Junior ROTC Instructor in the Dallas Independent School District and, later, the Carrollton -Farmers Branch Independent School District from which he retired. Master Sergeant West joined the Capt. John Yancey Detachment, Marine Corps League in 1987 and has retained membership to date and served as Adjutant, Paymaster and Senior Vice Commandant.
